HOGSWINE

Here are a few wines I drank recently. Not all at once mind you, I had all four bottles glass by glass.

K Vintners 2005 Motor City Kitty

Damn. This wine is sexy. It has a beautiful nose with lots of dark red fruit and just overpowers you when you stick your nose in the glass. I got some great notes of plum, dark chocolate and maybe some citrus on the palate and the finish lasted halfway to the moon. To me this wine felt like sitting in a dark room.

Tertulia 2005 Red Table Wine

This was a fun one. This wine certainly has its own place with bright red fruit and a little tartness coming through near the end. This is something I wouldn’t necessarily recommend to everyone but if you want a great value, and a fun, Walla Walla red, this is it.

Stephenson Cellars 2006 Viognier

There was only 40 cases of this gem made so if you can find it, grab it. I am a total sucker for viognier and Walla Walla viognier’s in particular. I got fresh apple cider, bananas and some baked bread notes on the nose and the palate was balanced with nice acidity. Drinking this wine made me aware of how hungry I was.
